A very smart couple on our baby-moon gave us advise about how to get your pet(s) used to a newborn coming into the home after you have papered them and treated them like your babies. They told us to invest in the crying baby and to walk around holding the baby letting it cry, and to also have the doll brought to the hospital after baby is born and to get the scent of your baby and bring back to the house before you bring the baby home and let the animal smell the doll to acclimate the pet(s). They told us to shop for it on amazon.com. Sure enough I found the 'Lissi Crying baby' and it was fairly cheap enough. In the beginning our cats were very curious, and wondering what was this new thing and not sure if it was coming into the house for them. After we were holding the baby back and fourth no more than a short period of time the newness wore off and they are totally not phased by it or threatened by it. Thus so far so good. Time will tell!
